LIVING ACCOMMODATION FOR SPECIALISTS.

In order to support the companies operating in Ventspils so that they are able to attract new employees, specialists working in companies located in Ventspils can apply to waiting list for long-term apartment rent pursuant to order of registration.

Qualified specialists working in the following sectors shall be registered in the municipality’s waiting list for apartment rent by priority:

• • Health care;
  • Education, science, research;
  • Sports;
  • Public utilities;
  • Culture;
  • City administration;
  • Information and communication technologies;
  • Sub-sectors of manufacturing industry – woodworking, mechanical engineering, metalworking, electronics, manufacturing of plastic products.

Only employees of the companies that have concluded cooperation agreements with the municipality are entitled to support.

Specialists, who comply to the requirements stipulated in the regulations below, can apply for the municipal support via their employers:

• • the specialist does not own an apartment or a dwelling house in the administrative territory of Ventspils;

  • the specialist has concluded an employment agreement with the employer, whose business operation complies with one of the above-mentioned sectors;

  • former place of residence (declared address) of the specialist for at least 3 (three) years was not in the administrative territory of Ventspils. This requirement does not apply to a specialist, who has graduated from an educational institution during the previous three years;

  • qualification and position of the specialist complies with the sector of development

For a specialist to apply for a municipal apartment he/she shall submit to the Ventspils City Council:

• • a motivated application from the employer;
  • an application from the specialist requesting support;
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV);
  • copies of educational documents (originals shall be presented).
